Central Air Units

Central air units are a major part of the home inspection process, Gold Home Inspection inspects each unit.  Part of the inspection process is to make sure the unit is functioning properly, provide the home buyer information about the age of the unit and the cooling capacity.  Central air unit typically last fifteen to eighteen years then require replacement.  Cost of a new unit depends upon the size, energy usage (SEER), warranty and brand names.  Central air units are a major purchase from home buyers requiring decisions based upon several facts.

In this posting, I am writing about a condo complex that I did an inspection for a buyer yesterday and I inspect another unit in the complex in 2021.   The central air units are set up in units of six and finding your unit is very difficult.   I had to shut the unit off and on, from the third floor and hussle down the steps and try to figure out which unit belonged to which condo.   When you have air or electrical panels group together it’s a good idea to mark your unit number on the air unit or breaker panel.
